PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta and fireworks show are moving to the Monongahela River side of the city for this year's Fourth of July festivities.

But the new location is creating some new challenges for the annual celebration.Point State Park, where the Fourth celebration usually takes place, is closed for the year. The regatta is on the move, and the best place to see all the action is Station Square.Diane Greco's company organizes the regatta as well as Regatta Thunder, the post-regatta fireworks show. She said Station Square is the perfect venue to host the boat races and the concerts, as well as the street carnival. But can it handle the thousands that will come to enjoy the festivities -- as well as their cars?"We will sell out, we will sell out," said Tom Schneck of Station Square. "There is no doubt in my mind we are going to sell out sometime, so take the trolley, park Downtown and walk across the Smithfield Street Bridge. It's an easy walk."But where is the best place to watch the fireworks?Organizers said pick a spot where you have a bird's eye view of the city skyline.Zambelli has moved the fireworks barges closer to the Point, which will make the fireworks visible from all of the river's edges and from across the city.More people will be able to see them from the South Side, and there will be no low-level fireworks. They are all aerials.Another big change this year is that fireworks will also be shot from atop the U.S. Steel Tower on the Fourth, which hasn’t happened in about 30 years.
