Star Jones: 'View' Co-Hosts 'Were Hateful'

Walters Says Show Made Star 'A Star'

Star Jones apparently isn't missing her days on "The View."

Recalling the days leading to her leaving to the talk show, Jones told Essence magazine, "Those girls were hateful."

"View" host Barbara Walters responded to Jones' accusations by saying, "Star had wonderful years with us on 'The View.' And, I think 'The View' made Star a star."

Walters added that she wishes "her well." Jones left "The View" in June 2006 after her contract was not renewed. She'd been one of the show's co-hosts for nine years.

Jones admitted in the Essence interview that she fell into a depression when she got into a public dispute with Walters over her leaving The View, lost her Court TV show and got divorced.

Now that she's come out of it, she says she's ready to fall in love again.

Currently, Jones is hosting a show on TruTV.
