Health officials in Washington County want to find the two men who dropped off a rabid cat at a shelter.

The state Department of Health said the animal was dropped off at the Washington Area Humane Society on Nov. 6.

The short-haired, black cat tested positive for rabies two days after being dropped off.

The two men are being urged to seek immediate medical attention and call the health department at 1-877-PA-HEALTH.

Anyone else who may have come into contact with this cat from Oct. 27 through Nov. 6 is also asked to call that number.
