Laurie has been a correspondent for Hearst-Argyle Television's Washington D.C. bureau since 2000.

Since then, she has had the opportunity to interview major newsmakers -- including President and Mrs. Bush, and Vice President Dick Cheney -- and to cover a wide range of events -- including the September 2001 terrorist attacks, presidential elections and the funeral of Pope John Paul II in Rome.

Before coming to D.C., Laurie was a weekend anchor and reporter at Hearst-Argyle's KOAT-TV in Albuquerque, N.M.

She is originally from the New York area, and graduated from Amherst College in Amherst, Mass., with a degree in French.

Laurie and her husband, Michael, live in Arlington, Va. They enjoy traveling, cooking, reading and biking.
