Jennifer Miele

UPDATED: 11:56 am EDT September 5, 2007

Jennifer Miele returned home when she joined WTAE Channel 4 Action News as the Westmoreland County Bureau Chief in October 2004.

Jennifer was born and raised in Westmoreland County, where she lives with her husband, Dr. Jason Cinti, a chiropractor in Penn Township.

She came to WTAE from WTAJ TV-10 in Altoona, Pa., where she was a business editor and general assignment reporter. Prior to that, she was a business reporter at WDBJ News 7 in Roanoke, Va.

She has a master's degree in politics from Virginia Tech and returned to campus to cover the April 16 massacre that stunned the world.

She has an economics degree from the McKenna School of Business, Economics and Government at St. Vincent College, as well as a minor in communications. She accepted an invitation to be Mistress of Ceremonies when President George W. Bush gave the commencement speech to the class of 2007. His controversial visit to the small, liberal arts college received national attention. She is currently an adjunct professor there, teaching Corporate Communications.

She is a 1996 graduate of Penn-Trafford High School and remains active in the community as the Chairwoman of the Recreation Commission.

Jennifer is a columnist for the Greensburg Tribune-Review's "Out and About" section that appears each Monday and highlights local charity organizations.

Miele spends much of her free time acting as mistress of ceremonies, guest speaker or celebrity host to hundreds of charities events each year, including Catholic Charities, Westmoreland Cultural Trust, The American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society and the Westmoreland Mental Health Association.

Jennifer says she "interned" just about everywhere ... even at the competition! Jennifer spent time at KDKA, the Tribune-Review, the National Journalism Center in Washington, D.C., Reader's Digest, NPV Video Productions and Iris Technologies (where she made her debut as a hand model ... yes, a hand model).

Besides being Bureau Chief at Channel 4 Action News, her dream has always been to be "The Shop 'n Save Lady." The perky, creative and talented Kathy Svilar has always been her idol.
